Welcome to our new community forum! As part of our AFPNP website refresh, we are thrilled to introduce a secure communication space for our members when you log into the AFPNP website. This first community forum includes all AFPNP active members. In the future, we plan to offer forum interest groups that you can choose to join (e.g., primary care focus, acute care focus, simulation, etc.).
As the 2026-2027 AFPNP President, it is my honor to kick off the introductions. I am an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, where I serve as the specialty coordinator for the PNP-AC track and teach in the specialty and DNP programs. I live in Austin, Texas and commute to San Francisco frequently. It's the best of both worlds—Texas hill country views and cool California coastlines. I have a college-age son and three dogs who keep me busy. I am looking forward to making connections with fellow faculty members to share teaching strategies and interesting assignments that engage our PNP learners.
My first question for the community is...what community forum topics will help you in your daily work?
Let's get our community building started! Please introduce yourself to our new AFPNP community here.
Thank you for being an AFPNP member!

Hello AFPNP community! I am excited to join this new forum ☺️
I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 2011. I currently serve as a Clinical Professor and Assistant Dean for Practice and Clinical Education at Arizona State University. I also continue my clinical work at Phoenix Children’s in the PICU, which keeps me closely connected to pediatric practice and the families we serve. In addition, I am honored to serve as the President-elect for the NAPNAP.
I am looking forward to using this space to build connections, share ideas, and learn from one another. I am especially interested in conversations around clinical education, academic-practice partnerships, and strategies that support our PNP students and faculty colleagues.
My first question for the community is: how do you track student data across programs for annual reports? 💙
